Its not a big deal anymore. Its very common nowadays to see the pictures and information getting leaked of a smartphone before they launch. Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are no exception, in this case Google itself may have ‘accidentally’ leaked some information about its upcoming smartphone range.
If you are a fan of Google Pixel smartphones these leaks wont deliver you a good news.
When google announced that Android P will support notch, that gave us a hint that google will be coming up with a smartphone having a notch, In this case its the Pixel XL. Google swiped Apple’s iPhone X gestures for Android, because all of a sudden Android’s navigation system that has been around forever did not make sense anymore.
YouTube channel This Is Tech Today’s Brandon Lee who first broke the news that October 4th might be the day when Google unveils the Pixel 3 series. The date makes perfect sense.
The phone will be housing a Snapdragon 845 chipset. But the down side is Pixel 3 will only have 4 GB of RAM!! Yup, you heard that. According to Reddit and WinFuture GeekBench scores have been revealed for the Pixel.
That brings us to the conclusion that google isn’t competing with latest flagship killers like the OnePlus 6 with 8 GB of RAM and Galaxy S9. And obviously Pixel 3 is going to be a cost heavy smartphone. But more importantly, 4GB of RAM also isn’t at the races from a real-world performance perspective, as it coincides with multiple reports of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL performance problems as they age.
It will be hard for Google to sell a smartphone with 4 GB of RAM in 2018. And there wont be any dual camera setup in this phone which is one of the most popular smartphone selling factor in 2018. And also after the recent video by MKBHD on “Why I Don’t Use the Pixel!”, influencing his large number of audience about the issues with the Pixel phones.

It’s unclear whether the phone will be unveiled or actually released in stores on t4th Oct. But it’s likely we’re looking at the announcement date here. If that’s the case, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL should hit stores a week or two after the press conference.
